Flexible Dual Voice Coil Design

The S2-W12D4 uses dual 4-ohm voice coils, allowing you to configure the subwoofer for different final impedance loads. When you wire the two 4-ohm voice coils in parallel, the subwoofer presents a 2-ohm final load to a compatible mono amplifier channel.

System Power Matching

When the S2-W12D4 is configured for a 2-ohm final load, the S2-A55V subwoofer channel is rated at 300 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms. The S2-W12D4 itself is rated to handle up to 600 watts RMS, so the amplifier operates safely below the subwoofer's maximum RMS power-handling capability.

Installation Notes

• The S2-W12D4 is a dual 4-ohm subwoofer. Wiring both voice coils in parallel creates a 2-ohm final load.

• At a 2-ohm subwoofer load, the S2-A55V is rated at 300 watts RMS x 1 on its subwoofer channel.

• The S2-W12D4 is rated for 600 watts RMS power handling; this does not mean the included S2-A55V supplies 600 watts to the subwoofer.

• The S2-S68 speakers are rated for up to 75 watts RMS each. The S2-A55V supplies up to 40 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms or 60 watts RMS x 4 at 2 ohms.

• A properly sized amplifier wiring kit, fuse protection, speaker wire, subwoofer enclosure, and additional installation accessories may be required.

• Verify speaker mounting dimensions and vehicle compatibility before installation.

• Professional installation is recommended.
